FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are your soaps so expensive?

Quality ingredients don't come cheap. The soaps from The Candler Maker use natural ingredients from around the world that are proven to nourish and hydrate skin.

What ingredients do you use?

The list of ingredients for Candler Maker soaps are as follows: Olive oil, water, shea butter, babassu oil, coconut oil, sodium hydroxide, canola oil, kokum butter, canola oil, rice bran oil, colorants, fragrance, and tussah silk fibers.

What sustainability and ethical practices do you follow?

Ingredients are sourced from businesses that prioritize ethical and sustainable products. Products packaging is meticulously sourced to be recyclable or biodegradable. The shrink wrap that The Candler Maker uses is Biolefin, a bio film that biodegrades into microorganism food in 2-3 years. Products are also packaged using kraft paper and cardboard, all of which is recyclable. We are doing what we can to be sustainable as possible and are always open to more ideas.

Are your soaps vegan?

Almost. The soaps contain tussah silk fibers, so they cannot be considered vegan. The silk fibers really add to the soap's silky, creamy lather. The fibers are hand harvested from Tussar silk moths.
